KOCHI: The High Court’s landmark verdict on fuel prices has come in as major relief to the KSRTC. The court has directed companies to provide fuel to KSRTC at retail prices.

The companies had been charging extra prices from the KSRTC terming them as bulk users. KSRTC was charged with an extra price of more than Rs 20 per litre than the normal rates for diesel purchases.

The court’s interim order came in a plea filed by the KSRTC questioning the extra price. The court also pointed out that there was a prima facie discrepancy in the fuel pricing.

Transport Minister Antony Raju has come forward in response to the court order. The verdict is a relief to the KSRTC. We will continue the legal battle, he said.
