NEW DELHI: CPM national general secretary Sitaram Yechury said that the party congress has not shown a green signal to the SilverLine project. He also clarified that the SilverLine project was not on the agenda of the party congress.
"The SilverLine was not on the agenda of the party congress. Therefore, there was no need for discussion. How can the party give a green signal to a train that did not arrive," Yechury said.
"The central and state governments are currently holding discussions regarding the project. It's in the early stages. There is no need to give a green signal now," he said.
Yechury also spoke about the controversy surrounding a marriage that took place in Kodancherry the other day. "The party does not accept the term love jihad in any way. It is part of the Hindutva agenda. The Constitution of India gives freedom to an adult man and woman to live together," he added.
