PALAKKAD: Congress leader VT Balram has criticized the DYFI's statement that love jihad is a fabricated lie and promotes secular marriages. VT Balram alleged that the CPM's documents say that Sangh Parivar definition of 'love jihad' is embodied in reality and that former Thiruvambadi MLA George M Thomas had spoken about these documents when asked by the media.

VT Balram also mentioned in a Facebook post that VS Achuthanandan had said during his tenure as the Chief Minister that there is a move to make Kerala a Muslim majority state through marriages. Balram criticized that the statement about Love Jihad is to deceive people.
