THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KSRTC has taken action in the incident where SWIFT buses met with an accident on the day of inauguration of service. The KSRTC management informed that the drivers have been sacked. The disciplinary action was taken following an internal investigation by KSRTC.
The internal committee investigation found that there was negligence on the part of drivers. The bus inaugurated by the Chief Minister met with an accident at Kallambalam on April 11 at 11 pm and at Kottayam at 10.25 am the next day. The bus also met with an accident by brushing with KSRTC Minnal bus. With this, Minister Antony Raju raised doubts as to whether there was a conspiracy against SWIFT services. The KSRTC MD had written to the government asking it to investigate the incident. SWIFT has expensive Volvo and Ashok Leyland buses.
