ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Investigation Agency (PIA) has announced an inquiry into Imran Khan after being ousted as the Prime Minister. The probe is into a case in which he sold a necklace received as a gift during his tenure as Prime Minister.

The necklace is worth Rs 18 crore. The investigation was announced in a case where it was sold to a jeweller instead of handing it over to respository.

As per Pakistani law, any gift received from diginatries of a foreign state must be put in the repository. According to Pakistani media reports, the necklace was sold to a jeweller in Lahore for Rs 18 crore through Imran Khan's special assistant Zulfikar Buhari. The Federal Investigation Agency has announced an investigation into the matter.
