NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 'Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya' museum in Delhi on Thursday. The museum will showcase the lives and contributions of 14 Prime Ministers of the country.

The museum houses the biographies and contributions of all Prime Ministers of the country from Jawaharlal Nehru to Manmohan Singh. It also presents the history of independent India.

The logo of the Sangrahalaya represents the hands of the people of India holding the Dharma Chakra symbolizing the nation and democracy.

The museum contains 43 galleries detailing Indian historical events, gifts received by leaders, memorabilia, speeches by Prime Ministers, their lives and various ideas that shaped the course of Indian politics. There will be an exhibition of videos, photos and audio describing individuals and events.

Controversy
It has been alleged that the BJP government's construction of the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya next to the Teen Murti Bhavan, known in the name of Jawaharlal Nehru, is a political move. However, the Centre is of the view that all the prime ministers who have ruled the country should be given the importance they deserve.
