ISLAMABAD: Days after being ousted from power, former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has warned the country’s government. “I was not dangerous when I was part of the government, but I will be more dangerous now”, Imran Khan said at a rally in Peshawar.

He alleged mystery over his removal from the post of prime minister and asked why the courts were opened at midnight before the National Assembly passed the no-confidence motion against him. The judiciary is not functioning independently, he alleged. “We will not accept an imported government and people have shown what they want by holding demonstrations against the move”, he said. Every time a leader is ousted in the country, people celebrate. However, mass protests were held this time, he said. Imran also alleged that the US has insulted Pakistan by imposing a new government on them.

Imran Khan is the first prime minister, in the history of Pakistan, to be ousted through a trust vote. He was removed with the court’s intervention following days of uncertainty.
