NEW DELHI: A video of a young woman's suicide attempt by jumping off the top of the Akshardham metro station in Delhi has gone viral on Twitter.

The incident took place at 7.28 am today. When officers saw the woman above the station and asked her why she was standing there, she replied that she is going to commit suicide. With this, the CISF jawans tried to dissuade her. Realizing that the woman would jump down, the CISF officers spread a blanket on the ground to catch her in case she jumps.

The woman jumped down without responding to the soldiers' instructions. However, the jawans were able to rescue the girl with a blanket through timely intervention. The girl sustained injuries to her arm and leg due to the severity of the fall. CISF officials said the girl, who is being treated at Lal Bahadur Hospital, is not seriously injured. Delhi Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
