PALAKKAD: An SDPI activist was hacked to death at Elappully in Palakkad. The murder was committed by the group who reached the area in a car.

The deceased has been identified as Kuthiyathodu native Subair (43). Police suspect that political animosity was behind the killing.

Subair and his father were travelling on a bike when the group attacked him. Subair's father got injured after falling off the bike. The incident took place at around 1.30 pm. The gang killed Subair in front of his father. The car in which the attackers were travelling was later found abandoned. The SDPI has alleged that the RSS was behind the murder. Malampuzha MLA alleged that the assassination was an attempt to disrupt the peace.
