PALAKKAD: Abubakar, the father of Popular Front activist Subair, who was killed at Elappullipara in Palakkad, said that he could identify two members of the assailants group. 'I saw two of the killers. They were not wearing masks.', said Abubakar.

Subair's son Sajad said that there had been previous attacks on the house. Some people hurled stones at the house. They lodged a complaint with the police but no action was taken. Sajad said that at first he thought what happened to Subair was a car accident. A gang that arrived in a car attacked Subair, who was returning from mosque after Friday prayers. His father, who was accompanying him, was also injured after falling off from the bike. Subair was hacked several times by the attackers. He was rushed to Palakkad district hospital but he died on the way.

The police have received information that there were five people in the gang, including the driver. As per sources, after the murder, the attackers have fled to the Kozhinjampara area and then went to Tamil Nadu. It was found that the Eon car which hit Subair belonged to the slain RSS activist Sanjith. The car was abandoned by the killers at Elappullipara. It is now in police custody.
