PALAKKAD: An RSS leader was hacked to death by a 5-member gang in Palakkad. The incident took place at Melamuri. The deceased has been identified as former Sharirik Pramukh Sreenivasan. He had sustained serious injuries to his head and legs.

Although Sreenivasan was rushed to a hospital, he was soon declared dead. The attack was carried out by five men who arrived on three bikes.

BJP leaders have alleged that SDPI was behind the murder. Police are conducting an inspection on the spot. More police will be deployed in Palakkad in view of the tense situation.
