In the wake of the Palakkad double murder, the police said that stern action will be taken against the anti-socials who are trying to spread rivalry and hatred in the society through social media. The police informed about this through a Facebook post.
The police said that those who spread provocative messages and such groups and group admins are under surveillance and strict action will be taken against them. In the past 24 hours, activists of RSS and SDPI have lost their lives in the attacks. Popular Front leader Subair was killed on Friday afternoon. Former Sharirik Pramukh Sreenivasan (45) was killed in Melamurri, Palakkad soon after.
Four people have been taken into custody in connection with the murder of an SDPI activist. Jinesh, Sudarshan, Shaiju and Sreejith were arrested. Two of them were accused in a previous case of attacking an SDPI activist. They are being questioned by the police. However, CCTV footage showed that a total of six people were involved in Sreenivasan's murder. They arrived in three vehicles and of those three people were involved in the killings. Others were seen staying within the vehicles.
