NEW DELHI: Leading political strategist Prashant Kishore is all set to work with the Congress to make the party win. He presented before the top level leadership his suggestions for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The Congress, once the largest party in India, has now collapsed. Therefore, Prashant's main suggestion is to build good relations with local parties.
The congress should fight alone in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Odisha. Prashant, however, suggested that an alliance be formed in Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Maharashtra. He also said that Rahul Gandhi should not be raised as the Prime Ministerial candidate. However, it is not clear whether the Congress leadership will agree with him on this point.
Although Prashant Kishore has decided to work with the party, it is not sure whether he will join the Congress. Prashant Kishore had also held talks with the Congress in the recent assembly elections. However, those discussions ended in a major split.
In Meghalaya, the rift between the party and him worsened when Congress leaders joined hands with the Trinamool Congress. However, in Gujarat, talks to bring Naresh Patel to the Congress have sparked plans to keep Prashant with the party.
Meantime, Congress general secretary K C Venugopal said it is up to Prashant Kishore to decide whether to join the party or not. The party will also discuss strengthening the Congress organizationally and forming alliances. He said a decision would be taken soon to appoint a committee to study the outline of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections submitted by Prashant Kishore.
