THIRUVANANATHAPURAM: Within 24 hours after the publication of news story in Kerala Kaumudi, KSEB officials installed a net metre at Dr Jayaprakash's rooftop solar plant. Five kilowatts of electricity was also taken to the grid. From next month, Dr. Jayaprakash's house will start getting a huge reduction in the electricity bill.
Due to unavailability of net metre stock, KSEB had not given permission to operate Jayaprakash's rooftop solar plant. Kerala Kaumudi published this newson Sunday. KSEB Director in charge of Solar Power, RK Suku intervened and suggested immediate action. He said that KSEB has started the Rooftop Solar project in a very planned manner and all the necessary equipment is available in all the circles as required. Action will be taken against those responsible for irresponsible behavior.
"Even though the solar plant was set up, it was not allowed to generate electricity, causing a loss of over Rs 500 per day. It is hoped that this news and follow-up will benefit consumers facing similar problems. " said Dr. R. Jayaprakash
