ALAPPUZHA: Senior leader K V Thomas has once again levelled criticism against the Congress. This time the criticism is against the party’s membership distribution campaign.

‘Congress’ membership campaign is a huge failure. Digital membership is not the norm of the Congress. We aimed to add 50 lakh people, but now are left with nothing’, Thomas said.

‘I am one of the person who decided that there is no need for a group. I have earlier said that groups will not benefit the Congress. I don’t think that KPCC president is part of the group. I have a good friendship with Sudhakaran. I don’t know what happened’, he added.

Leaders including Sudhakaran, have an agenda to oust me from the party, Thomas said the other day. The response came after he was not invited to the political affairs committee meet. The group leaders are trying to expel me. There is nothing wrong in attending the CPM party congress, Thomas said.

Meantime, the KPCC political affairs committee meeting had assessed that the membership campaign will not be taken seriously. Criticism was raised at the meeting that they had failed to adhere to the time prescribed by the central leadership. In addition, the meeting also agreed to let the high command take decisions on the issues of K V Thomas ad P J Kurian.
