dileep

KOCHI: The High Court has rejected Dileep’s plea to quash the investigation into the murder conspiracy case. The court has permitted to continue investigation into the case. The verdict was pronounced by a single bench of Justice Ziyad Rahman.

Dileep is the main accused in the case. The other accused include Dileep’s brother Anoop, his brother-in-law T N Suraj, relative Appu, friend Baiju Chengamanad, cyber expert Sai Shankar and Sarath, a hotel owner from Aluva.

The High Court has not permitted to transfer the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Dileep had raised a strong argument in the court to transfer the case to the CBI, if not quashed. The probe team had also submitted an investigation progress report before the Aluva Magistrate Court, considering the possibility of handing over the case to the CBI.

Expected verdict – Director Balachandra Kumar

Director Balachandra Kumar has come forward in response to the court verdict in the murder conspiracy case. It is a verdict that I had expected, he said.

The court has accepted the evidence I gave. The opposing party tried to undermine my credibility. But, with the court’s order, my credibility has been restored. The voice clip, which was released, is only a teaser. The police have a number of audio clips, which the people have not yet heard, Balachandra Kumar said.

Meantime, the High Court will also pronounce verdict today on a petition filed by the prosecution seeking time for further investigation into the actress attack case. The court had allowed time till April 15. However, the government’s argument is that more time is required for investigation and evidence collection.
