THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: P Jayarajan has protested against the appointment of P Sasi as the Chief Minister's Political Secretary. Jayarajan expressed his opposition during the CPM state committee. Jayarajan, who pointed out that P Sasi was likely to repeat the mistakes he made earlier, added that care and caution must be exercised in the appointment. However, party state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said that the information should have been communicated earlier.

Jayarajan, a member of the state committee, replied to this by stating that he used to express his views when the matter was being discussed in the committee. He also urged that the decision should be reconsidered.

Despite Jayarajan's opposition, the state committee decided to appoint P Sasi as the Chief Minister's political secretary. Sasi's experience as a political secretary when EK Nayanar was the chief minister favoured him. Sasi also enjoys the support of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
