HYDERABAD: A 23-year-old woman is in a critical condition after the laptop on which she was working exploded while she was working from home. The woman identified as Sumalatha is a native of Mekavaripalli in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh. She sustained 80% burns and is battling for life. The laptop exploded and caught fire while charging it. The spark fell on her bed and spread all over her room.
Sumalatha is a software engineer working in Bengaluru based Magic Solutions. She was working from home over the past few months due to the pandemic. Her parents said they rushed to her room after seeing smoke emanating from her room. Initial reports said short circuit is the cause of the accident. Seriously injured girl has been shifted to a private hospital.
