THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A CPM branch secretary suffered a serious injury after being attacked by a drug mafia. The incident took place at Karyavattom near Sreekaryam in Thiruvananthapuram. CPM Kuttichal branch secretary Anil Kumar was attacked by a five-member drug mafia.

The gang attacked Anil Kumar when he questioned them about using cannabis in the locality. They attacked him using a stone. Anil Kumar, who sustained a serious head injury, has been admitted to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College. Sreekaryam police have registered a case.
