THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The woman, who had accused director Balachandra Kumar of sexually abusing her, has lodged a complaint to the DGP and the Chief Minister alleging that police were protecting Balachandra Kumar without arresting him in the sexual abuse case. In her complaint, the Kannur native woman alleged that Balachandra Kumar threatened her and tried to influence her to withdraw the case. She also accused Balachandra Kumar of insulting her on TV channels through his friend Baiju Kottarakkara.
According to the complainant, police were colluding with the director in the case. She had earlier lodged a complaint alleging that Balachandra Kumar had sexually abused her after offering her a job. Although the Elamakkara police had registered a case against Balachandra Kumar, they did not take any action to arrest him, the complaint read. The complainant alleged that the police were taking a stand to protect the accused and sabotage the investigation.
'I am being threatened to withdraw the case. My life is in danger. The police are protecting the accused even after he withdrew his anticipatory bail plea,' the complaint read. The woman had alleged that Balachandra Kumar had sexually abused her 10 years ago.
