IRITTY: Actor Suresh Gopi kept his word. He has offered a home for Munmi Gegoi, daughter-in-law of Kerala. She is a native of Assam and wife of K N Sajesh of Iritty. She had contested the last Iritty municipality polls as a BJP candidate from Vikas Nagar ward.

She has been staying with her husband and two children in a rented house for years. The actor offered her a home after coming across her plight. The family did not even have a cent of land.

A land was found by a team led by Hindu Aikya Vedi leader Vatsan Thillengeri. Dr P Salim gave land free of cost at Karkot in Thillengeri. A house was constructed. The house warming function of the house was fixed on the next day of Vishu, but as the popular actor could not come it was postponed. The function was held the other day after lighting the lamp in the presence of the actor. The house has been named ‘Sreelekshmy’.
