KANNUR: A man who throws stones, kept in his bike’s front seat cover, at any vehicle that overtakes him, was strategically caught by a police team under the leadership of Kannur Town inspector Sreejith Koderi. The arrested has been identified as C H Shamseer (47) of Vazhayil house near Mehar textiles, East Koyyode Pothuvacherry, Chala.

He has pelted stones at seven vehicles, including two ambulances and five cars. The investigation team comprised of assistant sub inspectors Ajayan, Renjith and Nazar among others. The accused was produced before the court and has been remanded.

Nabbed while wrecking Volkswagen Polo

The police began investigation against Shamseer after he smashed the windscreen of Kannur Thana native Thasleem’s Volkswagen Polo car. Earlier, stones were thrown at vehicles on the Kizhuthalli bypass but no one had lodged any complaint with the police. Finally, Shmaseer’s bike’s number was identified when the police checked the nearby CCTV footages. ‘I used to throw stones at vehicles that overtake me’, Shamseer said in his statement. For this, stones are kept in the front seat cover of the bike.
