THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The central meteorological department has warned of heavy thundershowers in the state for the next five days.

The rains are continuing in Kerala under the influence of the low pressure area extending from north Karnataka to Comorin. As part of this, the central meteorological department has also issued general alerts for strong winds, thunder and lightning. Heavy rains are expected in the hilly areas of central and northern districts. As there is a possibility of strong winds, fishermen should remain vigilant.
