Sheikh Dharvesh Saheb, who is stepping down as the head of the jail, has been named the new head of the crime branch.
Former transport commissioner MR Ajit Kumar will be the new head of vigilance. S Sreejith was removed from the post of Crime Branch chief at a time when the case of actress assault case and the murder conspiracy case related to it have reached a crucial juncture. It is learnt that the complaints following the interrogation move against Dileep's lawyer led to the removal of the Crime Branch chief. Dileep's lawyers had lodged a complaint against ADGP Sreejith seeking an inquiry against him in connection with the actress assault case. The complaint was filed with the government through Advocate Philip T. Varghese. In their complaint, Dileep's lawyers alleged that the probe team, including ADGP Sreejith, was acting illegally.
