THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Widespread rains are likely in the state on Saturday. The meteorological department has predicted isolated rains in various districts as well. Thundershowers and winds are likely from 2 pm till 10 pm. However, no special alert has been issued in any of the districts.

Fishermen should remain vigilant as strong winds with a speed of 40 to 50 kilometre per hour and bad weather are expected along the coast of Kerala, warned the authorities. The current rainfall is caused due to a low pressure area extending from North Karnataka coast to the Gulf of Mannar.
