PALAKKAD: Three more persons have been arrested in the murder case of RSS leader Sreenivasan. The arrested were the natives of Shankhuvarathodu. Investigators said those involved in the conspiracy and those who brought the vehicle to the murderer group were taken into custody.
The police have not released the names of those who were arrested. At the time of the murder, one of them had reached Melamurry. Ten people have been arrested so far in the case. Those who were directly involved in the crime could not be apprehended.
ADGP Vijay Sakhare said the attackers had targeted two other people before killing Sreenivasan. This was revealed while questioning the accused. He said that as the situtaions were not favourable, they targeted Sreenivasan instead of others.
Shankuvaramedu natives Mohammad Bilal (22), Mohammad Rizwan (20) and Shankuvarathodu native Riyasuddin (35), Puthupparyaram Industrial Estate, Parappath Thodi Sahad (22), Kannumpuram native Ashwah (23), Aikkapadam native Hussain(30) and Kalamparambil native Ashraf(29) were arrested earlier for assissting the murderers.
Sreenivasan was attacked on April 16 at around noon in his shop at Melamuri Junction. The six-member killer gang arrived on two bikes and a scooter. Three persons who sat at the back of vehicles rushed inside his shop and hacked him to death.
