AHMEDABAD: During his first official visit to India since becoming Prime Minister, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson met a billionaire in India. It was Gautam Adani, chairman of the Adani Group. Boris Johnson and Gautam Adani met at the Adani Group's headquarters in Shantigram, Ahmedabad.

Adani mentioned on Twitter what was discussed during the meeting. Adani tweeted that the National Hydrogen Mission Green H2 announced by Prime Minister Modi, as well as projects in collaboration with UK companies in the field of defense and space technology, were being discussed.

Discussions were held on how the Adani Group and the British companies could work out $ 300 billion in other major projects for defense development by 2030. Adani also announced the Chevening Scholarship, the British Government's flagship scholarship scheme for young Indians. Adani has invited the British Prime Minister to attend the India-UK Climate Science and Technology Summit on June 28 in London. Boris Johnson described Adani as a special friend of Indian Prime Minister Modi. Earlier, whenever Johnson decided to visit India, it was hampered by the Covid outbreak.
