KASARGOD: Police have arrested a father for raping and impregnating his 16-year-old daughter. He was arrested from a hospital in Mangalore.

The girl, who was two months pregnant, was first taken to a private hospital in Kanhangad. They later left the hospital without being able to answer the questions of the hospital authorities. The hospital authorities then informed the police. Following this, a search was initiated and it was learned that the accused was in Mangalore.

The man then took his daughter to a private hospital in Mangalore to undergo an abortion. Soon, the police reached the hospital and arrested him. The girl is currently undergoing treatment at Pariyaram Medical College due to physical ailments. A case was registered against the accused under the POCSO act.
