KANNUR: Reshma, a teacher from Pinarayi, has been granted bail in the murder case of CPM activist Punnol Haridas in Mahe. Thalassery first class magistrate court granted her bail.

Reshma was arrested yesterday for helping Nijildas, the accused in Haridas murder case, to stay in hiding. The accused was hiding in Reshma's house in Pinarayi. The accused came to this house at Pandyalamukku in Pinarayi after Vishu. Reshma is a teacher at Amrita Vidyalaya in Punnol. Reshma's husband is an expatriate. It is learned that Reshma arranged accommodation and food for Nijildas even after learning that he was a culprit in the murder case. The RSS man stayed in hiding near the CM's house.

Nijildas, the accused in the Haridas murder case, was arrested by the police yesterday. Later, bombs were thrown at the house last night where the accused stayed.

Punnol Haridas was killed on February 28 this year. Nijildas was initially questioned and released, but his role became clear in the subsequent investigation. An anticipatory bail application was filed but was rejected. Two more accused are yet to be arrested in the case.
