NEW DELHI: Clashes have once again broken out in the Mirhama area of Jammu and Kashmir hours before Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit. One Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist was killed in a joint operation by police and the army.
A high-level meeting chaired by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha was held this morning to assess the security situation in Jammu. A CISF bus was attacked yesterday about 20 km from the village of Palli, where the Prime Minister was visiting.
Troops killed six militants yesterday, including two suicide bombers. Senior officials arrived at the spot and assessed the security.
Arriving in Jammu and Kashmir tomorrow, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate a number of infrastructure projects, including the Banihal Qazigund road tunnel.
