THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Recently a controversy erupted after the police were seen kicking the protesters who protested against the installation of survey stones for the Silverline project in Kazhakkoottam. Now, another visual has surfaced which shows police officers hitting a Congress activist on his face during the protest. The footage shows Civil Police Officer Shabeer of the Mangalapuram station hitting Congress activist Joy on his face during the protest.

Sources said that Shabeer is likely to face disciplinary action for kicking the Congress activist during the protest against K-Rail. The Special Branch, which conducted an investigation against Shabeer, had submitted a report to the Rural SP. The Opposition had demanded that action be taken against the policeman.
