KATTAPPANA: In a tragic incident, a youth, who took over cooking to give rest to his pregnant wife, died in a cooker explosion. The dead has been identified as Shibu Daniel (39) of Kochuthovala. The accident took place at around 7 am on Sunday. Shibu had been cooking for a week. While he was making breakfast, the pressure inside the cooker rose and the lid hit Shibu’s head with a loud bang. He was soon rushed to a private hospital, but could not be saved. An injury to the brain had caused the death, said the hospital authorities. The body will be handed over to his relatives after post-mortem. Shibu is survived by his wife Jincy and daughters Anna and Helen.
