NEW DELHI: The weekly Covid cases have doubled in the country. More than 15,000 cases were recorded within last week. 2,593 Covid cases were reported last day, raising the total count to 4,30,57,545.

The country recorded 44 Covid deaths on Sunday, bringing the total death toll to 5,22,193. More than 1,000 cases have been reported in Delhi for the third consecutive day. 1083 cases were reported in the country’s capital, last day.

The Prime Minister has called a meeting of the chief ministers on Wednesday, to discuss about the measures to deal with the fourth Covid wave. At the meeting, union health secretary Rajesh Bhushan will present data on the current spread of Covid-19. The prime minister had earlier convened a meeting of chief ministers on January 13 following the Omicron surge.
