KANNUR: The CPM activists faced the protestors who were against the laying of survey stones at Nadal in Kannur. The activists led by the secretary of Edakkad local committee chased away the protestors. The police had taken the two groups into custody.

Some congress activists staged the protests. The CPM activists chased them away. The police reached the spot and took them into custody. The activists also shouted at the police. The laying of survey stones was disrupted till noon. When the stones were laid later, some congress activists removed it. The CPM activists said the locals have no complaint and so asked the congress activists to return. There were protests in Chala in Kannur.
