Parents give top priority to their children's education. Nowadays, common people can make their life better only through education. So they even borrow and take loans for educational expense. The middle class and the poor depend on government schools. It has been a while since the old ways of government schools began to change. Students coming to government schools from private schools has become a reality now.

The crisis faced by the Education department in the second Pinarayi government was the worst since the formation of the state of Kerala. Schools were closed for two years because of Covid, but they had to continue the classes online. During this time, the Education department headed by Education Minister V Sivankutty has made a number of significant achievements.

Amid the decline in Covid outbreak, the minister's willpower to reopen schools by following Covid protocol is appreciable. The minister also made unexpected visits to several offices to ensure speedy removal of files. The Minister personally found 500 unmoved files lying in the office of the Thiruvananthapuram Regional Deputy Director. It is proposed to hold adalats and settle the arrears files.

A great achivement of the Education departnment is in making online and digital learning more efficient and making it accessible to all, including the underprivileged. It shapes the future of the students and the state. The Minister has taken a number of steps, including the promotion of 1655 primary teachers to headmasters, the appointment of new teachers to over 771 primary posts, the formation of a committee for curriculum reform and the formation of an action committee to implement the recommendations of the Khader Committee. His work as Minister of Labour is also commendable. It is hoped that in the years to come, the Minister will be able to make the state's public education sector a model for the entire country.
