NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the 90th anniversary celebrations of the Sivagiri Pilgrimage and the Golden Jubilee of Brahma Vidhyalaya. Sree Narayana Guru is the spiritual light of India. With Guru’s birth, Kerala became a holy land, Modi said.
Varkala is the Dakshina Kashi. Sivagiri has often led the way in Kerala’s progress, said the Prime Minister. ‘I was invited to Sivagiri when I was chief minister itself’, he said.
“Guru updated religion in a timely manner. He talked about education and science. He never went back from glorifying religion and faith. The vision of ‘One caste, One religion, One God’ has guided Atmanirbhar Bharat”, he said.
Sree Narayana Guru fought against bigotry. He talked about modernity and enriched Indian culture and values. He presented ideas by understanding others’ feelings, Modi said.
“My inclusive development policy is a part of Guru’s thoughts. If Guru’s vision is understood, then no power can divide India”, he added.
