LUCKNOW: The Home Ministry of Uttar Pradesh has ordered the removal of all illegal loudspeakers from religious places in the state. According to government sources, those loudspeakers, which violate the permitted volume limits, will also be removed. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is in charge of the state’s home affairs as well.
All the police stations in the state have been directed to inform the home department about the figures of the number of places of worship, where such loudspeakers are installed, by April 30. The report should be submitted by the divisional commissioners of each district.
The loudspeakers will be removed after holding talks with religious leaders. The order comes days after Yogi Adityanath’s announcement that loudspeakers can be used at religious places only with the government’s permission and should not go beyond the permitted volume limits. He had also said that no new permits will be issued for loudspeakers.
