THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: S Sreejith, who has been appointed as the Transport Commissioner, has said that his transfer will not affect the investigation in the actress assault case. Sreejith said in a press conference that the morale of the officials should not be destroyed.

"It was the government that announced a further investigation into the case. The investigation team was also decided by the government. There is no truth behind the suspicion that there was an external influence to transfer me from the post of Crime Branch head. If there had been an external influence, the investigation would not have gone so far. I was just a face of the inquiry," Sreejith said.

"No one in the police force works alone. Case investigation is a continuous matter. There are a lot of people in the police force. There is no change to the investigation team. My transfer will not affect the investigation. The current Crime Branch head is smarter than me. I did not do anything alone. Do not destroy the morale of the investigating officers. There has been a lot of controversy in both cases. None of that has affected the investigation," Sreejith added.
