THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As the request from government to avoid piling up of files in offices, got rejected, the government has tightened its measures. The digital system connected to Spark has the punching system to Secretariat and other government offices which helps to identify latecomers among employees and reduces salary likewise.

Punching was first introduced in the Secretariat in 2018. However, there has been no significant change in the way of file checking. About half a lakh new files are received every month in the Secretariat in 44 departments. A total of 45000 files are processed per month. The government aims to increse it by 60,000 a month.

Minutes will be recorded on late arrival at the office. Delay of maximum of 60 minutes a day. Salary will be reduced if the minutes reaches up to 300. Seven working hours a day.

Leave application should be submitted through Spark. Otherwise the salary will be deducted. In case of one-time punching, it will be considered as leave.

Access control

Card should be swipped to enter into the office in the morning in the Secretariat. You have to swipe the card again to go out. Permission must be received to go out except for lunch, or during working hours.
