THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Bank has bagged first place at the national level in the award instituted by the National Federation of State Co-operative Banks for Excellence in Co-operative Banking.
Kerala is a state which has successfully implemented a two-tier system to provide better banking services to the rural people and farmers instead of the three-tier system in the cooperative sector. The award was given to Kerala Bank for its work in a democratic manner, resource mobilization and development, delivering banking services to the maximum number of beneficiaries, better recovery performance, arrear eradication, financial literacy, best profits, governance skills, computerization and leadership skills.
C Sunil Chandran, General Manager, State Co-operative Bank, received the award from Bhupesh Baghel, Chief Minister, Chhattisgarh, at a function held in Raipur on Monday.
