PATHANAMTHITTA: Minister Saji Cheriyan has justified the Chief Secretary's visit to Gujarat to learn about the dashboard system of the government. Saji Cheriyan said that if something good happens in Gujarat, what is wrong with Kerala following that example? The Chief Minister needs a mechanism to directly monitor all projects. A delegation led by the Chief Secretary is visiting Gujarat to learn about this. He said he would study about the fisheries department in Telangana, which is far ahead of Kerala.

Chief Secretary and his staff officer IAS officer NSK Umesh personally visited Gujarat to learn about the dashboard system. The Dashboard is a system that enables the Chief Minister to collect the progress and information on major projects with a single click. After the visit, VP Joy said that it was very effective system in assessing development progress and was happy to learn about it.

It was implemented in Gujarat in 2019 when Vijay Rupani was the Chief Minister. The CPM-led government, which had earlier rejected the Gujarat model, adopted their rule as a model and sent the Chief Secretary directly to study it, this issue had become controversial. Opposition parties have alleged that this visit is part of CPM-BJP relation in the administrative level.
