THIRUVANANTHAPURAM/ PALAKKAD: As the chemistry question paper of the recent Plus Two examination was tough, the answer key prepared by the teachers was submitted to the Joint Director of the Higher Secondary Examination was found in the trash. As the old answer key was distributed in the valuation camp, the teachers boycotted the assessment process.
Teachers allege that it is a deliberate move to reduce marks for students studying in the state syllabus. Last year's Plus One Chemistry exam was also tough. Teachers point out that there will be a significant reduction in the number of winners.
The chemistry exam had tough questions even from the non-focus area. Some questions had mistakes. The teachers then prepared and submitted the answer key in the scheme finalization held at Ernakulam in a manner that would give a concession of ten marks.
The first boycott was at Palakkad Cheruppulassery Govt. Higher Secondary School on yesterday morning. The boycott took place at Attingal and Model School in Thiruvananthapuram. They demanded the use of answer key prepared by teachers of all 14 districts.
Evaluation of subjects other than Physics, Computer Science, Computer Application, Statistics, Home Science, Journalism, Gandhian Studies and Economics started yesterday.
