THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Power restriction will continue in the state today also. Power will be controlled for 15 minutes between 6.30 pm to 11.30 pm. Cities, essential services such as hospitals and pump houses have been excluded from the restrictions.

The Maithon Power Plant in Jharkhand, which supplies power to Kerala, had reduced production due to shortage of coal. Due to this, the power to the state will be reduced by 400 to 500 MW. From 6.30 pm to 11.30 pm, 4580 MW of power is required. It is in this context power has been restricted.

Power Minister K Krishnan Kutty and KSEB have stated that the issue will be resolved in two days. The KSEB has requested consumers to cooperate in reducing power consumption.
