THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Three people have been taken into custody for attempting suicide by pouring petrol, in front of the Secretariat. Zakir, Saleem and Noushad, residents of Sultan Bathery in Wayanad threatened to kill themselves by dousing petrol on their bodies.

The three poured petrol on their bodies in front of the police. They later threatened to attempt suicide and tried to set them on fire. The firefighters rushed to the spot and poured water on their bodies. The youths threatened to kill themselves saying that they received death threats and were not getting police protection.
