NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court has directed prisoners out on parole during Covid time to return to jails. The apex court has asked them to report to their prisons. The court did not accept their request for extension of parole as the Covid cases are rising.

All activities in the country have returned to normalcy and such protections could no longer be granted to them alone. The decision was taken by a bench led by A bench of Justice L Nageswara Rao.

The order was issued on the plea filed by Mohammad Shafi, T K Rajeesh and K C Ramachandran, convicted in the T P Chandrasekharan murder case. The court ordered the parole of those convicted over 10 years in last September.
