KOCHI: The Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) has sought explanation from actor and producer Vijay Babu, the accused in the rape case. The executive leadership is likely to meet on Sunday in order to discuss the issue.
The film association has tightened its stance amid the police’ active efforts to bring back Vijay Babu, who has fled the country. They have also sought legal advice for further actions.
The internal complaint redressal cell led by Shweta Menon has demanded action on the matter. The other members of the cell include Maala Parvathi, Kukku Parameshwaram, Rachana Narayanankutty, Edavela Babu and advocate Anakha.
Currently, Vijay Babu is an executive member of AMMA. Hints suggest that the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) has demanded to expel Babu from the organization.
Meantime, the investigation officials are of the view that there is a possibility of further complaints against Vijay Babu and that it could aid the probe of the current case.
