THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister GR ANil on Saturday said that several petrol pumps in the state were cheating customers on the quantity of fuel. The minister said that inspections were held at 700 pumps in the state and irregularities were found in 46 of them. The minister made the revelation while attending a program on a private news channel.
Earlier, during an inspection conducted by the Legal Metrology Department, deficiencies of up to 140 millilitres had been found while filling 10 litres of petrol. In addition, it was found that lubricant oil was charged higher than the MRP.
