THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Senior politician P C George arrested for his controversial remarks against the Muslims, was granted bail by the magisterial court in the capital city. His arrest was recorded after he was brought to the capital city from his house in Erattupetta, Kottayam. He was produced before the magistrate and was granted bail.
He was earlier produced before the magistrate in Vanchiyoor court under tight police security. George was produced before Justice Asha Koshy at the Magistrate's Complex. George was granted bail and was asked not to influence witnesses or interfere in controversial matters.
Meantime, George while coming out of the court said that his arrest was Pinarayi's Ramazan present to the radical Muslim groups to the radical Muslim groups. He said that he sticks firm in the controversial remarks. However, George said that he is withdrawing his statements against business M A Yusuf Ali. He said what when the ideas that were on his mind were revealed, it became something else. He said that he spoke for the small traders.
George alleged that the LDF and the UDF were working together for the extremists in the state and that this was a case aimed at Muslim votes. The police, who had voluntarily filed a case under sections 153A and 295A of the non-bailable section, wanted him in remand for 14 days. George was taken to court in a police vehicle under heavy police guard.
