KOCHI: Actor Vijay Babu, who is accused in sexual assault case, has been removed from the Executive committee of AMMA organization. The Executive meeting of AMMA in Kochi decided to keep Vijay Babu out of the executive committee till the end of the case. Vijaybabu had written a letter to the organisation asking to suspend him until his innocence was proved following a sexual assault complaint . Following this, the decision was taken by the AMMA Executive Committee meeting held today. In the letter, Vijay Babu says that he is staying away because the allegation will bring disreputation to the organization. However, AMMA's official news release has not been received yet.

Shweta Menon, Chairperson of the Internal Complaints Committee, had recommended action against the actor. The committee demanded that Vijay Babu, a member of AMMA's Executive committee to be suspended or demoted. The explanation given by Vijay Babu was discussed by the Executive Committee. It was only after this that it was decided to set him aside.

Meanwhile, the Kochi City Police has intensified its efforts to bring back the actor who is absconding in Dubai to arrest him. Kochi City Police Commissioner CH Nagaraju said that the anticipatory bail application in the High Court was not an impediment to the arrest of Vijay Babu. Will go abroad to arrest him if needed.The Kochi City Police Commissioner has said that case will be registered against Vijay Babu if more complaints are received. The police concluded that there was no impediment to the arrest as there was no specific order from the court.
