IDUKKI: Uma Thomas, UDF candidate from Thrikkakara, said that K V Thomas will not work against her. She said that K V Thomas is a leader who has always been attached to P T and will seek his blessings in person.

‘He will never say anything against me. Both our families have a close bonding. Will go and see him directly. I had called him yesterday, but could not talk to him, talked to chechi. She told me that their blessings would be there. They are attached to me,’ said Uma Thomas while talking to the media at PT's hometown Upputhodu.

Uma reached Upputhodu last night. She will return to Thrikkakara after attending the mass in the church. She was active in public programmes at Thrikkakara in the last few days after getting hints that she would be fielded.

Following the announcement of the by-elections, the KPCC quickly recommended the name of Uma Thomas to the high command. With the approval of Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, AICC general secretary in charge of Kerala Mukul Wasnik announced her candidature yesterday.
